Uttar Pradesh, with a total wheat production of 35.65 million tonnes in the crop year 2024-25, is the largest wheat-producing state in India.
UP is followed by Madhya Pradesh and Punjab as the second and third largest wheat-producing states in India, respectively.
Uttar Pradesh also had the largest area under wheat cultivation, at 9.60 million hectares (refer to the table given later in this article for data on other states).

- The total Area Under Wheat Cultivation in India was 32.80 million hectares, with an average Yield of 3,595 kilograms per hectare.
